C3S General Assembly

The Copernicus Climate Change Service held its inaugural General Assembly over five days, 6 - 10 March 2017 in Toulouse, France.

6 and 10 March offered the possibility for participants to network and organise side meetings, and 7-9 March was dedicated to the plenary assembly.

The General Assembly:

provided updates on the latest developments to the service;
gathered and shared user requirements and feedback on the service so far and its various proof-of-concept activities;
shared the knowledge and experience of the current C3S providers across the various components of the Service;
facilitated networking and brainstorming sessions for the climate change community in the context of an operational C3S.

During the General Assembly there was a 'thematic fair' - a series of side events, grouped by theme, to illustrate the ongoing work and the achievements of the current activities contracts. These took place throughout the duration of the meeting, with ample time dedicated to them in the agenda. Each thematic fair was introduced during the plenary session.

There were booths for the fair 'exhibitors' consisting of tables, chairs, walls suitable for poster display. Side meetings between thematic contractors were also encouraged on 6 March and 10 March.
