Evaluación anónima por pares usando moodle: Una experiencia con alumnos de ingeniería

The new paradigm of the Spanish University System has enabled the development of a variety of evaluation methodologies, which consider new aspects of the learning process. Moreover, the integration of information and communication technologies into the educational system in the recent years has made evaluation processes more appealing for the student, who is used to the digital world.
The present study combines these two aspects. We analyze a co-evaluation experience as part of the evaluation of the subject of Statistics in the Chemical Engineering degree of the University of Cantabria. For this purpose, we used the Moodle learning platform. Co-evaluation was put into practice by applying anonymous peer reviews to group projects. The study shows the need to stipulate as clearly as possible the common evaluation criteria to avoid discrepancies in the evaluation. We also highlight the positive aspect of involving the students in the evaluation process, allowing them to improve their own learning process from a different point of view to the traditional learning methodologies. It is also important to stress the important role of new technologies which allow us to develop these methodologies in an interactive and transparent way for students. The use of Moodle increases students’ interest and makes this method of evaluation more attractive to them.
