EGI Technical Forum 2013

The EGI Technical Forum 2013 will take place in Madrid, Spain at the Meliá Castilla Convention Centre. The venue is in the centre of Madrid, a few metres from the Paseo de la Castellana, 15 minutes from the airport, near Chamartín train station and the Real Madrid football ground, the Santiago Bernabeu.

Madrid has three airports. The largest is the Madrid-Barajas Airport, just 12 km away from the city and accessible by a modern public transport network. The underground (Metro) is the fastest, most efficient and most affordable way to move around Madrid. The city has a vast metropolitan network, one of the most comprehensive in Europe, and covers almost all the points in the capital and many of the neighbouring areas.

Madrid is a century-old city with a wide offer of entertaining and cultural events, greatest art collection in the world, with the Prado, Reina Sofía and Thyssen Museums. Madrid is surrounded by six sites considered World Heritage by UNESCO within a 100 km radius, less than an hour drive: Toledo, Ávila, Segovia, Alcalá de Henares, El Escorial and Aranjuez.
